Maggie was looking at the MacBook Air I had just purchased for my recruiter. She had mentioned to me earlier that she wanted to see the laptop in person, to determine whether or not it really was the first computer after which she ever truly lusted. She held it, turned it over and over in her hands, shifted it back and forth, and finally said: “Oh, I really like this a lot.”
“Good,” I said, “Because it’s yours. The other one is in the car.”
Now that I finished transferring all of her data, I felt that I should pair it briefly with the 8-core monster. They make a lovely couple, I think.
Love to all. Even you, stoner cashier lady.

Grrrrowwwl!
I have never gotten into Apples. Of course, that’s mostly because I don’t know the first thing about making them do what I want. Now I have a new reason to not care for them. One of our ministers left last month for a better paying position. For two years he dragged the rest of the church staff kicking and screaming into an Apple network environment. Part of his ego trip was that he was the guy who could run it. Now that he’s gone, doing anything on the network, or with our webpages, or anything else is just torture.
Oh man. I know exactly how she feels. I would love a Macbook Air… but the pricetag… *sigh*
OK, that story just made me green with envy on so many levels.
I’m with Kizz. Maggie’s a lucky girl.
That is an amazing contrast, isn’t it? It’s made even more amazing when one considers that the laptop probably has more features and brain power than the tower.
Strangely, I do not covet the Air, though I think it’s lovely that you surprise your wife like that. You’re very cool…
Well aren’t you grand?!
Wow.
My husband just buys me books.
Well done!
Oh MAN…I want one of those!!
You are a really cool hubby, you know.
Wow, that was really sweet! Good show!!
And yeah, I’m really really really jealous, because my heart races every time I see that commercial where they pull the Air out of the manila envelope.
But I’m content with my lillies, which were our wedding flowers (pre-V-Day flowers, since they jack up the prices right before the day) that I got last week. Really I am.
