I just got back from my youngest son’s birthday party. It was a pool party. 15 six year olds, running round like maniacs. I came home to do some work before the weekend. My newsreader alerted me that Miss Britt had updated her blog, so I went to read.
Her friend lost his son yesterday. There are no words for how sad that is.
Take a minute to pay a call to NYC Watchdog, then take the very next moment to realize how good you have it right now.
Update: Avitable is helping with a memorial fund. You can buy a graphic for $5 (or $10, or $50), and he ’s donating 100% of it to help out with the financial issues involved in the tragedy.
Love to all.

Thank you Rich. Seriously.
I’m sorry, I can’t read it. I cannot read about people losing their children. Just the thought of it has me tearing up right now.
My most sincere condolences to your friend and his family, Miss Britt. Every parent’s absolute worst nightmare.
My kids can’t swim yet, which may seem insane considering we are surrounded by water. They are getting lessons ASAP.
It’s heart wrenching, gut wrenching, horrifying and every other word that can describe nearly indescribable pain. As a parent it’s a fear you live with, something you try to prevent, and something you don’t let yourself talk about. It’s taking everything I have right now not to lock my kids in their rooms and not let them out again. The urge to protect your offspring is just so strong and these types of situations are exactly why.
Thank you for taking a moment to post and be there.
I read the post earlier tonight, through Tracy Lynn’s site.
I can not imagine the depth of pain.
Thanks for putting up the donation link. What an amazing place the blogsphere is.
That is so sad. It makes me want to wrap my arms around my kids and never let go.
