Despite its flaws, the US does a lot of great things and stands for many things which I hold dear.
I feel it is our responsibility as citizens to learn from our mistakes, improve, and to grow.

My sentiments EXACTLY. I'm passionate about the basic goodness of the United States and its people, which has made the the last six years even more painful to bear. I'm not sure I'll live long enough to see us recover our reputation and former glory...which is really sad considering I'm only 44!
