This post is tremendous example of a "Christian" writing in direct contradiction to my understanding Spirit of Christ. It just blows me away.
How can someone read the Gospels, and then act like that?
Some of his writing is manipulative, contradictory and hypocritical: he says Christianity is "superior in both intellectual and spiritual manners" and THEN says, in the next sentence, "I will not call other religions inferior." Clearly, he thinks his readers are idiots.
Worse, though, is his utter bastardization of the Christian message, as well as Christian history. The dude needs to read up on Christian history, with some special emphasis on the evolution of the Christian canon.

That was a totally retarded post, and I can't believe you would link to it, making it more accessible. There are so many misconceptions and wrong statements in that post that it's not even worth debating them.
The guy seriously sufferes from fundamental religious blindness, and needs lots of psychological counseling.
I linked to it because it exemplifies the danger of "religious" arrogance and miseducation. I think it's important to know what's out there, sometimes.
I think you missed the entire point of his post. While I see a bit of arrogance in his treatment of his nephews marriage, overall, he is just stating some observations.
He is observing that Christianity is the dominant religion of the Western World. That is true. And, he is observing the idea that there is usually a reason for which things become dominant. He is also observing that many liberals tend to criticize people who love their faith. This indeed happens, and is not true the the liberal ideal of being open-minded. They are just observations.
Try cutting the guy some slack. You didn't have to read his blog, you chose to do so.

And your stereotyping of liberals does nobody any good. I'm a liberal, and I think it's safe to say I love my faith. And I respect the faith of others.

Oh, I read the post. It was disgusting and hateful. It was also somewhat racist. I agree with ITS. You've got serious problems, and you should really seek counseling.

I read a post by him stating something to the effect of perhaps when a woman is raped, it's god' will. I pretty much wrote him off after that.
He's ignorant, and while he has every right to post what he wants to on his blog, other folks have every right to criticize and respond.
